How long did it take and what online schools are available? Also, how did you find your employer after you graduated?
Does anyone work from home doing medical coding or billing?
I was in medical billing, but in a doctor's office. There are schools available for billing, but in all honesty, I don't think it's necessary if you're going to work in an office because you'll get more than enough training. But since you want to work at home, there are companies that advertise in magazines for coding and billing. They are usually in the back section. As for the salary, don't believe the ones that say you can earn up to $40,000 a year. Billing specialists don't make that much. At the company I worked at, they were starting off at $11.00 an hour. Back when I started they only paid $8.25!! I worked there for over six years and left with a decent wage, but it still wasn't the $40,000 like the advertisement said. Sorry I can't help you anymore, but some schools do offer job assistance to graduates.

Reply:I read on yahoo news that medical transcriptionists were one of the highest demand job in the US right now, that it pays about 30 K a year working from home, setting your own hours, and that it takes about 3 months to get the certificate you need to do it. I don't know about which schools do the certificate though or how much it costs.
Good luck, maybe you can find the article.
