What is the candy coded pop corn recipe?
In Hawaii, they have candy coded popcorn. It was green and Red. What is the receipe for that? Sources?

*Fiddle Faddle %26amp; Screaming Yellow Zonkers
-Fiddle Faddle (butter toffee with almonds)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 bags plain or natural-flavored microwave popcorn
1/2 cup roasted almonds
-Zonkers

1. For either recipe, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, water
and salt in a large saucepan over medium heat. You're going to bring the candy to 265-275 degrees, or what is known as the hard ball stage. For this it's best to use a candy thermometer. If you don't have one, don't worry. Drip the candy into a small glass of cold water. If the candy forms a very hard, yet slightly pliable ball, bingo, you're there. Watch your mixture closely so that it doesn't boil over.
2. While candy cooks, pop both bags of popcorn and spread about 2 quarts or 1 1/3 bags of popcorn (plus almonds for Fiddle Faddle) on one large or two small cookie sheets. Put the popcorn in your oven set on its lowest temperature. This will keep the popcorn hot so that the candy will coat better.
3. When your candy has reached the hard ball stage, add the vanilla.
4. Pull the popcorn from the oven and, working quickly, pour the candy over the popcorn in thin streams. Mix the popcorn so that each kernel is coated with candy, put the popcorn back into the oven for five more minutes, then stir once again. This will help to coat each kernel. You can repeat this step once more if necessary to get all of the popcorn coated. Pour popcorn onto a large sheet of wax paper to cool. Spread the popcorn out, but be careful...it's hot.
5. When popcorn is cool, break it up and immediately put it into a tightly sealed container, such as Tupperware. This will ensure that it stays fresh. This stuff gets stale very quickly in moist climates if left out.
Makes about 4 quarts.
*Pop-Up Popcorn Stand
1 pound of white chocolate, cut into small chunks
3 tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup of heavy cream
2 tablespoons peppermint extract
4 candy canes, crushed in a mortar and pestle, or by hand
2 cups Sweet Riot cacao nibs
2-3 bags of buttered microwave popcorn
Prepare microwave popcorn as directed on package
On low, melt butter and white chocolate
stirring constantly with a whisk.
When melted, add cream and peppermint extract, continue to whisk until the chocolate mixture is completely smooth.
Slowly mix the white chocolate peppermint in with the popped popcorn, spreading evenly. It's best to do it in batches, with a large bowl, so the popcorn doesn't fly every where.
Add in crushed candy canes, reserving some for garnish right before serving
Mix in cacao nibs
Serve with crushed(now pink)candy canes, and serve with lots of napkins.

Do you know how to make popcorn in the microwave? Take some popcorn, put it in ANY kind of regular paper bag, fold the open edge over a few times to keep the popped corn in, put it in the micro and microwave it for the usual time (till pops are heard more than 4 sec apart). YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THE EXPENSIVE Microwave Popcorn!!!
So, to this very simple recipe, I'd start experimenting w/sugars.

How much do time do you spend programming at work?
I just wanted to roughly know how much other people spend their time programming at work if you are a developer. I am a Java developer and I spend about 98% of the time coding. I was just wondering because a professor I had in college said that developers only spend about 25% of their time actually coding. One reason I may spend a lot of time coding is that the work is usually assigned to individuals rather than teams. Here are some questions to get a feel of how other companies work: How much time do you spend coding? What are other activities that take a large percentage of your time? What is the size of the company you work for? Do you feel like you work on projects as a team or individually? Feel free to leave any other comments that pertain from your experience.
How much do time do you spend programming at work?
I dont think your professor was 100% correct. If you just got the job then you will most likely spend the majority of the time coding and as you get more experienced and familiar with the companys system you may end up doing more analytical work such as developing a database, analysing data, meetings etc.. After some time you start to think that even a trained monkey can program so they usually give those tasks to less experienced people so the more you move up the less programming you are likely to do. Also, it sometimes takes longer to test your work than it takes to program it.
Reply:There is a difference between "coding" and "programming". Most programmers are really programmer / analysts. They should spend a lot of time analyzing. They also test, debug, test again, train users, write help screens, meet with users, watch business processes, read professional journals, goof off answering YA posts on the corporate T-100 line and so forth. If you are devoting 98% of your 40 hours a week to grinding out Java code, you must be a regular coding machine. Do you have others who set the requirements, design the systems, test, debug and so forth? Or did you count that as "coding"?

We do have a team of IT guys here.. but not enough for 300 users. So I go here and there to support the IT guys.. which makes me 60:40 on develop/maintaining:IT Troubleshoot...
...not considering all the meetings and paper works and overtimes...
As to my friend.. who works in a strict development environment...
Most of time he spend his time coding... other time studies the languages.
Sounded like 80% coding, 15% studying, and 5% meetings.
Another friend who works in a QA environment...
According to him he spends 100% on coding 100% on meetings and 100% hearing the development team Biaatching in his ears 100% hearing his team Biaatching about the developers... which is a very team oriented environment.
Most* development environment is individual based...
because it's hard for multiple people to create portions of a code and expect everything to work perfectly once the code is put together.

If a Design is good then a Deveopelr can develop in few Hrs. We always propely document the Designs and then Send it to Developer to develop. So The way we work is

the entire code can be written in any text editor like note pad or wordpad.
once you type out the entire code all you have to do is save the file with the .HTML or .HTML extension.
open the file in any Internet browser and tada! you have your website done.
unfortunately this is very tedious, and doesn't have a debugger. so I'd suggest the you should rather learn frontpage and stick to using it.

My coding is limited to HTML, but by copying and pasting scripts I can do most things I think of (like, for example, refresh a page every minute, etc. )

There aren't any specific scripts for something like this. It's more a less quick script that needs to be custom made. You might find certain tools on screen scraping ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_scra... ), but based on your description, it's not more than a few lines of code. So pretty much everyone would just program something in a high level language.
You simple need to connect to the webpage, read the data, then use a regular expression or some string searching method for the appropriate HTML tags that indicate a "siren". Then play the sound file if it happens.
Python, Ruby, Perl are all very useful languages for this, because it's easy to write out a fast script that does the above. It's possible to program something like that in C#, Java, C++, and so on, but it takes far less in the first three languages I mentioned.
Today might be the day to expand your knowledge.

My theory is that, if you have a file, it is coded deep down in binary, and farther down, into electrical pulses and transmissions and what not. Now my theory is that, if say you had a song which its binary code was "101010000101010010" and made a completely new file out of that code, would it be a exact copy of that file?

i have 3 different combo boxes and i want them all to have the same items and i want to use the "with" function to add items

I don't know exactly how you plan to use the combo boxes, but a control array would let you do what you want.
Your boxes would be cboWhatever(1), cboWhatever(2), and cboWhatever(3).
If they all act the same, then you only have to code in the cboWhatever() sub and it applies to all 3.
As for you addItem, you add a For/Next loop, like:
for X = 1 to 3
With cboWhatever(x)
.additem january
.additem e.t.c
End With
Next

I want to learn how to design web sites, by putting it all together (CSS and graphics). Basically I want to learn the skills to create a visually pleasing website.
Any sites that focus on the design over HTML coding is what I'm looking for. I already know HTML, Javascript, some CSS, and others (and graphics designing as well).
My problem is that when I try to create a good website, it may work well, but it'll look like absolute crap.

I don't know of any place to do remote development, and I cannot think of any reason why you would want to do it. Just download and install the JDK. I suggest that you also consider using an IDE as well (I use eclipse), but you can certainly do small projects in any text editor.

What kind of color coding has color codes like "#e00c44" and "#f9c0ca"?
While making a layout for a profile (for gaiaonline.com) The color coding didn't seem like the kind I was used to. I'm used to #000000 being black, and #FFFFFF being white. They had colors like "#e00c44" and "#f9c0ca".
Is this the same kind?
(BTW, I think the colors are a pink-ish shade.)

Benefits - to help the paper pushers know where to push the papers basically. Proper coding helps them make decisions, file, and process. Without proper billing and coding, things get lost and benefits can even be denied.

I think it's better to learn on the job because even if you learn how to bill insurance companies, you still have to learn your employer's way of doing things. I started off in '99 and made $8.25 an hour, but by the time I left, new employees were making $11.00 an hour. Your pay will also greatly vary due to where you live. The best thing for you to do right now is to get some information from coding and billing schools and go from there. I personally like to learn things by someone teaching me face to face, but you may find it easier to learn from a computer. I loved my job and wish I were still working, but I left due to a bad change in management at my company. I started off not knowing anything about medical billing and worked my way up to assistant manager and was offered two manager positions, but turned them down due to the way managers were treated where I worked. Hi, to learn medical coding, it can be done at a community college through a certificate program or you can continue on to an associates in health information technology. Then you usually do an internship and then try to pass certification tests. I will warn you though it took me a year to find a job after going to school and getting the CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) credential. There is a great demand for medical coders, but the demand is for experienced coders.
I would advise you to make sure whatever program you choose is backed by the American Health Information Association (AHIMA). They issue medical coding credentials.
Medical coding requires some kind of formal training although you are a pharmacist and that would be a big help as far as the terminology. I used to do medical coding. I found it very difficult but for you, it may come easier? Here's some examples: Having to read coronary bypass surgeries and count how many arteries were bypassed, were autogenous saphenous veins used or mammary artery or thoracic artery, was extracorporeal circulation used (heart lung machine)? Was there prolonged mechanical ventilation after the procedure? All of these events have specific codes. Not to mention after training you are expected to meet daily production standards. It is difficult to find a job where you only have to code one specialty, like only cardiology or only urology. Mostly hospitals hire coders and they are expected to do a little of everything, outpatient surgeries, ERs, etc.
Good luck whatever you decide. Never tried medical transcription, but have been looking into it.

well photoshop and html are two different things.
if you want to code a DIV you made in photoshop, you have to learn how to create html/css really well.
a regular myspace layout doesn't need photoshop.
unless for the background? otherwise, you can't start making layouts if you don't know how to code them.
i've seen the basic HTML skeletons for making the layouts but im not sure how to get the codes for work that ive already done. can anyone help?

well photoshop and html are two different things.
if you want to code a DIV you made in photoshop, you have to learn how to create html/css really well.
a regular myspace layout doesn't need photoshop.
unless for the background? otherwise, you can't start making layouts if you don't know how to code them.

Because schools are designed to make money... they are usually behind the curve when it comes to emergiing industries...
in this economy most businesses are in a wait and see point... so that means no new hires....

I am not surprised to find that you haven’t gotten a response to your question. Most people (especially those in the field) are leery about saying anything about a company, course or vendor because of the litigation and cease and desist letters that usually follows. Hence, I will say this:
If you have the time to attend a good local college, vocational or trade school then go that route. It can be expensive but you will greatly benefit from the face-to-face interaction and coaching you will receive. If you don’t have the time or money to go to a traditional learning institution then take an online course but the problem is that there are so many that it's an overwhelming task to choose a good and affordable one.
I have hired several employees during my time within the coding industry and the most knowledgeable ones that I have come across all got their education from the same online medical billing course. Then they took that education and sat for the National Certification Exam given by either the AAPC or AHIMA (they also passed on the first time taking it so that in itself speaks volumes).
When I ask these potential employees why they choose the course/school they did this was their response:
“I chose them because they give you a very well-rounded education, great phone-email-fax-mail support, a choice of different advancement levels geared toward the goal I was trying to achieve and a slew of bonuses that came with the course instead of as an add-on with an extra charge. Here are a few extras: up-to-date equipment used in the industry, a copy of the course in hard copy, unlimited number of final exam retakes, 2 year graduate job database membership, letters of recommendation, reasonable payment options, evaluation of your resume for employment, evaluation of your home based medical billing, coding or medical transcription sales/marketing letter for those that were starting their own businesses and a hotline to help you after you become employed just to name a few.
So here’s one online school/course that I know I can count on when we are looking for new employees to join our company because they (potential employees) are very well versed in all the aspects of medical billing, coding and transcription. Have any idea on the color coding of trashcans used in the hospital pls...???
this sounds ridiculous but it really would be a big help if u enlighten me on this. i was told red trashcans are for items that are hazardous...wats yellow wats green whats orange whats black are for??

I have never seen a hospital with so many different colors of trash cans and have been a nurse for 25 years.
Red trash cans are used for objects that contain human wastes (thus could be infectous). Small red containers (large ones in the labs) are used for sharps like needles, razors, blades, etc. Red liners for linen containrs are used for linen that could be infectous so needs special handling.
Everything else has just been in other colored trash containers for normal disposal.
However, the colors you mentioned are used in the hospital for other purposes. When you here an overhead page for a "code", they will label it with a color to let the appropiate staff know what is going on, so the right people will respond to help. The codes are not yet standardized, so different states and country may have a slightly different list, but in my experience:
Red - there is a fire
Blue - someone needs resuscitation
Pink - a child is missing
Yellow - there is a disaster outside of the hospital that may effect paitent care inside (like a hurricane)
Orange - A hazardous material has spilled inside the hospital
Black - a bomb threat
Green - a security issue, like combative visitor
